Adán Delgado - trumpet
Adán Delgado Illada (1981) completed his studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Tenerife, under the tutelage of Trumpet Professor D. Agustín Ramos. In 1998, he was selected as a scholarship student at the OST Academy of Orchestral Studies, with professors Stephen Leisring and Ingrid Rebstock. He has participated in Master Classes with professors Leopoldo Vidal, Luis González, Rubén Marqués, Joucko Harjanne, Gabriele Cassone, Andrew Ikov, Vincent Penzarella, Maurice André, Haan Peter Stagnes, John Miller and Guy Touvron.
He is a member of the Spanish National Youth Orchestra, the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, the European Union Youth Orchestra and the World Orchestra of Musical Youth; he has collaborated with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, the Reina Sofía Chamber Orchestra, the Granada Orchestra, the Madrid Symphony Orchestra, the Cadaqués Orchestra, the Bilbao Orchestra, the Leonore Orchestra, the Porto Symphony Orchestra, the Warsaw Symphony Orchestra, the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liége, the Symphony Orchestra of India…; performing in Europe, Russia and Asia; with the maestros Lutz Köhller, Christopher Howgood, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Paavo Jarvi, Jan Pascal Tortellier, Frübeck de Burgos, Bernard Haitink, Sir John Elliot Gardiner, Nelo Santi, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Valery Giergiev, Sir Neville Marriner… ; in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Konzerthaus and Philharmonie in Berlin, the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato, the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, the Muscat Opera House or the Seoul Arts Center.
Awarded in several competitions such as the first prize in the international trumpet competition “Yamaha Xeno 2004”, or the first prize in the 10th international trumpet competition in Benidorm 2008.
Principal trumpet of the Balearic Symphony Orchestra (2004-2008), member of the Orchestra of the Valencian Community at the Palau de les Arts “Reina Sofía” (2008-2009). Also since 2004 a member of the brass quintet “5debrass”, professor at the Conservatory of Music and Dance of the Balearic Islands (2004-2014) and professor at the Center for Higher Studies “Katarina Gurska” (2017-2020) and “Musical Arts Madrid” (2020-2023). He is regularly invited to give courses and Master Classes throughout Spain, and maintains a close teaching collaboration with the Tallinn Academy of Music and Theater (Estonia). He has also given Master Classes and concerts in Russia, Poland, Mexico and China, where, in addition, he recently participated as a jury member of the Fuxin International Competition, in addition to performing a recital within the same event.
As a soloist, he regularly participates in recitals with pianist Jaan Ots, with whom he has formed a duo since 2008. Noteworthy are his appearances as soloist with the OS Baleares, Camerata Sa Nostra (Telemann), Philharmonic Orchestra (Hummel), Orchestra of the “Isola Classica” festival in Italy, Shostakovich Concerto with Rosa Torres Pardo at the Mosque of Cordoba…, and frequently invited to be part of the jury and professor in the selection auditions of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (since 2010), and various national and international competitions, invited as a professor at the EUYO, JONDE, OJA, JOCAN…
He recently participated in the prestigious Pärnu Music Festival & Järvi Academy, the Maspalomas International Festival, and was invited to the 48th Annual International Trumpet Guild Conference in Los Angeles (CA), where he gave a recital with Miriam Hickman, including premieres by Mollà, Zapata and Martínez Campos, and was part of the jury of the Orchestral Excerpts Competition and participated in a trumpet session.
Since 2009, he has been a member of the Spanish National Orchestra and a founding member of the brassONEquintet. Adán Delgado is a member of the STOMVI label.
