Philippe Berrod - clarinet
Philippe Berrod is an internationally renowned French clarinetist. He was first clarinetist with the Orchestre de Paris and studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris (where he received a unanimous award) before becoming a soloist with the Orchestre de Bretagne and then the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.
As a guest soloist, he has also performed with numerous prestigious artists. He collaborates with several composers and ensembles, such as the Sirba Octet, with whom he explores the eclectic horizons of live music.
He is also a guest soloist with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the European Chamber Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Orchestra in Munich.
Philippe Berrod is the winner of numerous international awards and has made recordings for various record labels such as Indésens, Sony Classical and Cristal Records, widely acclaimed by critics ("Choc Classica", 4 stars Télérama, Diapason, "Clave del Año" Resmusica, nominated for the Victoires de la Musique Classique 2011).
He succeeded Michel Arrignon as professor of clarinet at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris.
Philippe Berrod is artistic advisor to the Henri SELMER Paris company. Plays the Privilège clarinets.
